Alysia graduated from Cardiff University in 2020 with a Masters degree in Chemistry. Completing modules spanning biochemistry, inorganic and physical chemistry she also studied a number of additional modules in further detail. These included ligand design, polymerisation chemistry, green chemistry, advanced materials, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and catalytic chemistry.
Alysia conducted research on the synthesis of biodegradable polymers and novel sustainable aluminium catalysts during her placement year abroad at Monash University, Melbourne.
Continuing her polymerisation chemistry research she concluded her final year at Cardiff University, producing novel biodegradable luminescent polymers on a large industrial scale. Her research utilised a number of techniques including MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry, NMR Spectroscopy, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, High Resolution Mass Spectrometry, Infrared Spectroscopy and Gel Permeation Chromatography.
Alysia joined Albright IP in July 2021 to train as a patent attorney, and is currently involved in every aspect of the patenting process including drafting, filing and prosecution of patents.
In her spare time Alysia enjoys travelling, water sports, skiing and team sports, including hockey and netball, plus less active pursuits such as reading and photography.
