Was a pleasure to work with Will and Melissa on a patent draft and filing.... Will took the time to understand both my software product and the commercial motivations behind the patent filing. They were extremely responsive to questions and clarifications throughout the process (availability isn't everything, but it certainly helps!).They were also very clear regarding fees, and set out a very helpful visual timeline and cost breakdown on the whole patent application process at the pre-sales stage. This emphasis on making sure I understood all aspects of the work, and having documentation to help with that, is something I didn't see with any of the other patent services I was talking to at the time. This clear communication continued throughout our interactions.Would recommend Albright IP to anyone looking to patent an invention. Katie qualified as a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney in 2002, after graduating from the University of Leicester with an Honours Degree in Law and obtaining the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.

Katie joined a large national Patent and Trade Mark firm, becoming a partner in 2007. She joined Albright IP in 2009 as a Trade Marks Director to lead the Trade Marks department.

Katie is a commercially minded, client-focussed Attorney, with a keen desire to understand and support her client’s business needs. She has extensive experience in all aspects of trade mark law, including trade mark selection and searching, trade mark portfolio management, filing and prosecution of trade mark applications around the world, initiating and defending trade mark opposition, invalidation and revocation proceedings, and trade mark defence and enforcement.

She enjoys working closely with clients throughout the brand creation process to ensure intellectual property assets are well protected, and advises a wide range of clients, from start-up business to multinational corporations with global interests.

Katie is a member of and regulated by IPReg, the independent professional regulatory body in the UK for Patent Attorneys and Trade Mark Attorneys.

She also has an wide-ranging network of attorney contacts around the world and regularly attends the CITMA (Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys) and INTA (International Trademark Association) conferences.

Outside of the IP world, Katie is a keen equestrian and a former international three day event rider and British team member. Katie now enjoys supporting her daughter’s love of dressage.
