Was a pleasure to work with Will and Melissa on a patent draft and filing.... Will took the time to understand both my software product and the commercial motivations behind the patent filing. They were extremely responsive to questions and clarifications throughout the process (availability isn't everything, but it certainly helps!).They were also very clear regarding fees, and set out a very helpful visual timeline and cost breakdown on the whole patent application process at the pre-sales stage. Marc graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master's degree in Chemistry, after studying at Keble College for four years. In addition to covering modules in general organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, he studied some topics in further detail, including: organometallic chemistry, organic materials, inorganic molecular spectroscopy, surface chemistry, lanthanide chemistry and photochemical processes.
In his final year at university, Marc investigated novel compounds intended to enhance existing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contrast media. He synthesised a series of electronically-linked transition metal-lanthanide complexes (d-f hybrids) and studied their photochemical properties and luminescence decay lifetimes. He established that each lanthanide ion could successfully emit light originally absorbed by its transition metal counterpart with moderate quantum yield, dependent on the combination of metals used, the transition metal chromophore and the preferred conformation of each d-f hybrid. After graduating in 2012, Marc became involved with the development of imaging software used by medical professionals to analyse PET, SPECT, CT and/or MR scans related to neurological or cardiac disorders. He subsequently joined Albright IP in March 2014, and now handles a range of patent matters, including general patent drafting and prosecution, and advising on infringement issues. In addition to being an experienced Chartered British Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and IP Litigator (Patents), Marc is a member of and regulated by IPReg, the independent professional regulatory body in the UK for Patent Attorneys and Trade Mark Attorneys. Marc is also a long-standing member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, and the European Patent Institute. In his spare time, Marc enjoys playing pool and squash, and regularly watches Formula 1.
