Will is an experienced Chartered British Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and IP Litigator (Patents). He prepares, files, and prosecutes patents with great success in a wide range of technical sectors globally, in addition to handling patent infringement matters. In addition to being Chartered, as with all our attorneys, Dr Will Doherty is a member of and regulated by IPReg, the independent professional regulatory body in the UK for Patent Attorneys and Trade Mark Attorneys. Will is also a long-standing member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, and the European Patent Institute.
Will has a background in Chemistry, with a particular interest in high-end scientific equipment, having obtained a doctorate in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry which specialised in spectroscopy and probing ultracold matter. Before joining Albright, Will worked for a financial software house. He has experience in chemistry, software, as well as a long history of work in medical devices, motors, and electronics technology within his professional practice. “I like to focus on the making the patent application process comfortable for clients, so that there are no unexpected surprises during the examination procedure, and try to forecast where critical commercial decisions should be made.
